Volume 1 was the story your whole county knows. This one is smaller and harder to tell.

Write your partner about something that happened to you that you have never been able to explain.

Not a story you heard. Not a story about your cousin. Something you were actually there for. The light that paced your car on a county road. The footsteps upstairs in a house where you were alone. The voice that said your name. The animal in the treeline that was the wrong size, or moved the wrong way, or stood up. The night you knew something before you had any way of knowing it.

"I was eighteen, fishing a strip job pond with an older couple and their two kids. Past midnight. Something hit the middle of that pond so hard we thought it was a fish, until a rock came out of the treeline and landed in the water. We lit the woods up with every flashlight we had and there was nothing there. Nearest person was fifteen miles off, down at the river.

We stayed a while, listening to branches snap and something knocking on wood all around us in the dark. Then a log came out of the trees and splashed one of the kids, and we were done. Packed up and piled in the Jeep.

Tony wasn’t satisfied. So a couple of us took lights and went up in there and searched. Never found a track, a light, a person, anything. The knocking kept going the whole time, all around us, and we finally just left."

I have turned that over for years and I am no closer to an answer than I was the day it happened. I suspect a lot of you are carrying something similar.

What you’ll do:

You’ll be assigned one partner. Write that person a handwritten letter about your experience. Tell them how old you were and where you were. Tell them what you actually saw or heard, in the order it happened, without cleaning it up. Tell them what you decided it probably was, and whether you believe that explanation when you are lying awake.

The part most people skip, and the part I most want you to include: tell your partner whether you ever told anybody. If you did, tell them what that person said. If you never have, say so. That is usually the real story.

If nothing like this has ever happened to you, you are allowed to write about the closest you ever came, or about somebody in your family who had one and what it did to them.

What to send your partner:

One handwritten letter, at least two pages. Longer is welcome.

Optional: a photo of the place, a rough map, anything that helps your partner picture where they are standing.

A note on tone:

Some of these are funny and some of them are not. If yours sits close to something painful, write it anyway if you want to, and know your partner is a stranger who signed up to receive it with respect. If you would rather keep it light, keep it light. Nobody here is being graded on how haunted they are.

Rules:

Handwritten. Typed is fine if handwriting is genuinely difficult for you, just mention it to your partner.

Mail within three weeks of assignment. If life falls apart, message me before the deadline and I’ll work with you. Silence is the only thing that earns a 1.

Rate your partner honestly and promptly once their letter arrives.

Minimum 4.5 rating to join. New members welcome, I just want people who finish what they start.

Deadline to sign up: Sunday, October 25
Mail by: Sunday, November 15

Please Note: This swap means to write the verses out - typing them out is NOT an option for this swap.

As the swap name says, this swap is for a Scripture Writing Plan. The details are that they need to be either a 30 or a 31 day plan and if you do a search you can find many of them on Pinterest or just do a google search for Scripture Writing Plans. And also as the swap title says, you can choice whatever plan (topic) that you'd like to do.

Write the Book of the Bible, the chapter and the verse (or verses) and then go onto the next one until all of the verses are written out. Please do number them as you do them such as below:

Example:

1. Psalm 15:1-5 (and then write the verses out right behind it ...)

2. 1 Corinthians 13:11

Please make sure that you write the name of the Scripture plan at the top of the page along with the name of the swap and your Swap-bot User Name. That will make it much easier for your partner to rate you for the swap (in case by chance your partner is doing more than one Scripture Writing Swap around the same time period).

Though the Scripture Writing Plans are 30 and 31 days, feel free to start the swap as soon as you want to and you don't have to write just one verse a day, if you want to - you can choose to write them all in one day, that's up to you!

Washi PC around the world #36

It is a chance to share your beautiful washi collection with others <3 I will keep hosting it regularly and hope more people will join it. SourceFabrics

In this swap, we will decorate postcards with washi to allow them to travel worldwide. If it returns to you, you can see DIFFERENT KIND OF WASHI in the postcard

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST ROUND:

1) Choose a postcard. A card that you think people would enjoy seeing (however, PLEASE DO NOT USE EXTRA LARGE POSTCARDS THAT WILL REQUIRE EXTRA POSTAGE!). Postcards

2) Put your name and address (including the country!) on the right-hand side of the card. Put the title of the swap ("Washi PC around the world #") and your screen name, as well as your email (people can confirm your address before sending it home), at the top of the left-hand side.

3) PUT IT IN AN ENVELOPE and send it to your partner. It would be nice if you could include some washi samples for your partner to keep (NOT A MUST) Please remember to include a note of your username and the swap name so the partner can rate you after they receive the card.

IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE PREVIOUS ROUND(S):

Hang on to the postcard(s) you receive in each round. I will host it regularly. You can send up to three cards to your partner

1) Stick 2-3cm washi with the following round number on the left of the postcard(s) you received and the country code to see where it travels. Please, NO TOO THICK OR THIN WASHI! (10-15 mm is perfect) . Please use a good quality washi the other person will enjoy. 2a) If the postcard is filled up with washi, please put the proper postage on it and send it off to the owner (send it NAKED unless the owner requires sending it in an envelope). If you do not have any postcards left to send off to your partner after doing so, repeat the steps from the first round, start a new postcard, and send it off to your partner. Please make sure that your partner does not create the postcard.

2b) If the postcard(s) aren't filled up yet, put the postcard(s) in an envelope. Also, don't forget to include your username and the swap name on a note inside the envelope. Send the envelope to your partner. DO NOT add a new card if you are sending a card already in rotation. ONLY START A NEW CARD IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY TO SEND IN THIS ROUND

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be responsible. I hope everyone can get back their own card. You can send up to three cards per round. If you have too many cards that are not full yet, or you are no longer going to participate, please contact me so I can put the extra cards back into rotation.

You can not have unexplained 1s or 3s. Swappers will be checked before partners are assigned. Please get in touch with your partner if you can not send it on time.

If your partner has signed the bag you have, you need to start a new bag. Hang on to the bag your partner has already signed and pass it on in a future round.

How it works:

     - Starting a new bag:

If this is your first round or you don't have an established bag to send, you'll have to make a new bag.

Take an envelope, bag, or just a piece of paper and write your address somewhere so the last signer can return it to you. You may also want to include your email too if there's a chance your address might change. Also, using a 9 sleeve card protector sheet works well to evenly distribute ATC's in the envelope when sending to your partner.

Next, write instructions somewhere on your envelope/piece of paper for each signer to follow - for example "Take out 2 ATC's and add 3". But you can choose how many each participant takes and adds.

Also include a place for everyone to sign their name. You can choose how many people add to the bag. Usually people have 4-5 participants. The last signer will send it home to you.

New bags should start with at least 4 ATC's so players have an assortment to choose from. They can be ones you made, or ones you already have made by other people.

Put the ATC bag inside another envelope, and mail it to your partner. You don't have to make a bag for yourself. If you want to make a bag for someone else that's fine. Update: I won't require it but if you can, it would be preferred if the ATC's are in a protective sleeve.

You're welcome to decorate the bag you make, but please don't make it too bulky. If it's too bulky or heavy, it could increase the cost of postage.

     - Returning participants:

If you participated in previous rounds or already have an established ATC Bag, you know what to do.....

Follow the instructions, put it in an envelope and pass it on to your partner. **IMPORTANT: Please sign with your username to make it easier so future participants can tell if you've signed the bag.

Make sure your partner hasn't already signed it. If your partner has already signed it you need to start a new bag or find another established bag they haven't signed. Hang on to the bag your partner has already signed and pass it on in a future round. Please include your Swap Bot user name when signing the bag you have so participants in future rounds can easily tell if you've signed it if you happened to be paired with them.

If you are the last person to add to the bag you currently have, you will need to send it home to its owner and start a new bag for this round.

     - Important:

Just to clarify, ATC's are 3.5 inches x 2.5 inches with a sturdy background. The ATC's can be made by you or other artists.

Do not send sticker-slapped cards you've made. You can incorporate stickers into ATC's you make as long as there's also some kind of artistic component to the ATC. It shouldn't be a large sticker, or multiple stickers, that is the primary focus ATC.

Also, do not include any speedy found image ATC's - ones that are simply an image pasted to a piece of cardboard. You can use a 'found image' if you're doing a collage, for example. The found image shouldn't be the primary focus of the ATC.

There should be a good amount of personal creativity added to an ATC if you choose to use a sticker or found image when making ATC's. You can use any medium to make your ATC's (e.g. paint, pens, markers, collage, etc.). Also, if you use embellishments when creating ATC's, try not to use ones that are too bulky. Doing so can potentially increase the cost of postage.

If you will be the last signer of the bag you receive, please send it home to its owner. Don't send a bag home unless you are the last signer unless you are unable to participate in future rounds. Let me know if you are unable to continue participating in the swaps.

Rate your partner a 5 if you receive an ATC bag that fits the swap description. Do not rate down because you don't think the ATC's are good enough or don't like them. Give a heart if you think it's extra special.

     - Requirements

No newbies and no unexplained or unresolved 1s or 3s. You must be active on Swap Bot for at least a year. You must have participated in at least 25 Type 3 swaps and have a well filled out profile. I won't include a rating requirement but ask that only well established users sign up. Don't sign up if you don't meet the swap requirements. I'm willing to make exceptions, but please contact me before signing up. I will ban users at my discretion.

Contact me if you have any questions. If you leave a comment I may not see it, so it's better to send me a message.

TGIF Weekend Notecard #517

Tell your partner what exciting or not so exciting things you did this weekend. Did you tackle a big project? Or a little project :) Read a good book? Go out for a party, or a walk, or to the store? Whatever you did, write a note Sunday evening or Monday morning telling all about it.

The TGIF notecard series is a writing swap in the "Letters & Writing" Swap Category, and I am emphasizing the _writing_ part by including “Journals” in the Swap Categories... “Journals" as in: We are _Journaling_ about our weekend on a notecard! (Not blank books! This is still a written __Notecard__ swap!)

Your message should be a _minimum_ of a notecard in length, writing on all or most of the blank areas of the card. A notecard is a folded card that goes in an envelope, similar to a greeting card but without the sentiment. You can use stationery instead of a notecard.

Please be aware of the very fast turn around time: Partners are assigned Saturday morning (Swap-Bot time) and your notecard should go out with the Monday mail.

#### Everyone is Welcome

Requirements! Newbies: A filled out profile is at least 350 words long. Not-so-perfect Ratings: 1s and 3s are okay, recent and ANY fixable 1s need to be taken care of. All: Please communicate if there's an issue!
